P4 in tight first race at Zandvoort
Scott started P4, fought his way up to the lead but finished P4 (P3 Rookie) after a really tight race – battling for every meter!
Netherlands F1 track Zandvoort is host for the 5th race weekend of the Ginetta Junior Championship, and Scott is loving it.
– It´s quite a technical track but is has a few opportunities to overtake, so I will do my best tomorrow to get up in front of the pack, Scott says.
The top pack in Race 1 consisted of championship leader and team mate Rocco Coronel, Alfie Slater, Fred Green and Scott. After a couple of minutes later, Scott, starting P4 was up at P3. A few minutes later he made the leap to P2 and after six minutes of racing Scott he made the leap for the lead.
– I got into P1 but locked up my rear brakes and lost down to P4 and had to start over again. Slipstreaming is essential in these cars so I had to be close, but I didn´t want to risk anything. I need the points for the championship.
Scott crossed the finish line almost doorhandle to doorhandle with Alfie Slater, in P4 (P3 Rookie).
– We have two more races tomorrow, I will do my best and try to beat them, says Scott Kin Lindblom.
Race 2: 11.20, Sunday.
Race 3: 16.25 Sunday.
