Scott Kin Lindblom Climbs Ginetta Junior Championship
Red Bull Junior talent Scott Kin Lindblom has moved up to fourth place in the Ginetta Junior Championship following a strong and eventful race weekend at Oulton Park in the UK.
"What a weekend – definitely one of the most eventful I’ve ever raced! I had to fight for every inch on track, and while I believe we had the pace for an even better result, we still managed to come away with some solid points," said Lindblom.
The 14-year-old kicked off the weekend with a strong second-place finish in Race 1 but faced tough challenges in the remaining two races.
In Race 2, the Swedish driver initially secured a top-five finish but was handed a penalty for an incorrect starting position, which dropped him to 14th in the final classification – the position from which he would have to start Race 3.
In the final race, Scott fought his way up through the field to claim an impressive sixth place, having dropped as low as 21st after the opening lap.
Despite a turbulent weekend, the Swedish junior has climbed to fourth overall in the championship standings and now sits third among the junior drivers.
"I had to take a few risks in the final laps of Race 3, and fortunately, it paid off. Unfortunately, we spent too many laps behind the safety car – I’m confident we could’ve finished even higher otherwise. Now I’m really looking forward to racing on home soil in Sweden and continuing to build experience," Lindblom added.
Next up is the Ginetta GT5 Challenge at Gelleråsen Arena in Sweden, taking place May 31–June 1.
