Scott Kin Lindblom Is Youngest-Ever Leader of the Ginetta GT5 Challenge

14-year-old Scott Kin Lindblom is the youngest driver ever to lead both the junior and senior standings in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge, following a dominant double victory at Gelleråsen Arena.

“It’s been three incredibly fun races where I had to fight all the way. It feels amazing to leave Gelleråsen leading both championships – and to be the youngest driver ever to do so,” said Scott Kin Lindblom.

The Red Bull Junior Program talent started the weekend by qualifying on the front row, missing out on pole position by just 78 thousandths of a second.

Scott grabbed the lead early in Race 1 but made a mistake and spun. Despite the setback, he fought his way back to finish in sixth place.

In Race 2, starting from pole position, Scott delivered a commanding lights-to-flag performance, setting the fastest lap and winning by a margin of over ten seconds.

The third and final race saw him on pole again, but this time he had to fend off a fierce challenge from senior driver Andreas Lundin. After trading positions multiple times throughout the race, Scott managed to clinch victory by just four tenths of a second.

The double victory puts Scott Kin Lindblom at the top of both the junior and senior standings—making him the youngest-ever driver to lead the Ginetta GT5 Challenge overall.

“Apart from the mistake in the first race, I’m very happy with the results we’re taking home from Gelleråsen. Especially the win in Race 2—that was just awesome! It’s been a fun, challenging, and rewarding weekend from start to finish. Now it’s 100% focus on the next Ginetta Junior Championship round at Snetterton in July,” said Scott Kin Lindblom.

Scott will miss the next round of the Ginetta GT5 Challenge at Falkenbergs Motorbana, as it clashes with the Ginetta Junior Championship event at Snetterton in England on July 12–13.
