Podium at Silverstone
Red Bull Junior Team Driver Scott Kin Lindblom (14) has climbed into the top five of the 2025 Ginetta Junior Championship standings after a strong podium from an eventful second round of the season at the iconic Formula 1 circuit Silverstone.
“It was really nice to climb the standings and claim another podium finish. But we definitely had the pace for more and I won’t be satisfied until we are at the top of the podium,” said Scott Kin Lindblom.
The 14-year-old Swede fought hard throughout the Silverstone weekend, starting off strongly by being fastest in testing - only to drop to seventh in qualifying following setup changes.
Scott then stormed up through the field in the first race to land an impressive third-place finish.
“We made some changes after testing that unfortunately didn’t work in qualifying. But the race was fun and tough where I managed to gain a lot of ground, something that was thoroughly rewarding,” said Scott Kin Lindblom.
An eventful second race saw the Red Bull talent finishing ninth after being involved in an incident early on and a lengthy safety car session meant that he had limited time to make up ground.
Scott repeated his strong charge from the first race in the third race and final race of the weekend, fighting his way from ninth on the grid to finish fifth despite another lengthy safety car session.
“I got a good start in Race 2 but was unfortunately forced off into a spin when trying to get up through the field from seventh on the grid. Then there just wasn’t enough laps after a long safety car period and we only got two laps at the end where I was able to climb three places to finish ninth,” said Scott Kin Lindblom.
“I had another good start in Race 3 and I had gained three places when I was hit from behind and almost spun. The safety car was a big factor again in this race and I only had three laps at the end to try and climb.
“I was able to get into the top five at the end, obviously not the result we aimed for and had the pace for. But it was still good points and we are again showing that we have the pace for the very top. I’m already fully focussed on the next round at Oulton Park where the goal is to put our learnings into action and score a lot more points.”
The Silverstone results sees the Swedish talent climbing from 11th in the drivers’ championship to fifth position ahead of the next round at Oulton Park on May 24-26.
