Double Win in Ginetta Nordic Championship Debut at Anderstorp, Sweden
Red Bull Junior program talent Scott Kin Lindblom (14) made an
impressive Ginetta Nordic Championship debut at legendary former F1
circuit Anderstorp in Sweden by winning both races.
“It was really great fun to race back home in Sweden and even more rewarding to take the
chequered flag first of all in both races, especially as this is a senior championship,” said
Scott Kin Lindblom.
The 14-year-old qualified on the front row, just 13 thousandths of a second from pole
position, despite an engine issue which cost him around 6-7 km/h on the long main straight.
Scott then quickly moved into a lead he kept throughout the first race.
The second race saw Scott starting from the front row once again and snatched the lead
heading out of Turn 1 on the first lap, a lead he maintained for the remaining part of the race.
“We had some technical issues which unfortunately made me a bit of a sitting duck at the
end of the long straight, but I managed that issue by braking even later and keeping a strong
pace in the banked corners,” said Scott Kin Lindblom.
The stewards handed Scott a post-race penalty for contact in Race 1 with a rival driver which
dropped him from first to fifth place.
“This has been a great weekend in total despite the issues and a late penalty which I don’t
agree with. But that’s racing sometimes and I bring a lot of positives with me to the next
Ginetta Junior Championship round in the UK which I’m really looking forward to,” said Scott
Kin Lindblom.
Scott’s main focus for the 2025 season is the Ginetta Junior Championship in the UK, but he
will drive all but one of the Ginetta Nordic rounds in parallel.
Next up for the young Swede is the third round of the Ginetta Junior Championship at
Oulton Park in the UK on May 24-26.
