Red flags and restarts at Lusail

The last race weekend in the UAE4 visited a new track – Lusail International Circuit in Qatar. A new track to both the team and Scott Kin Lindblom.
The first two races unluckily had some incidents that turned into red flags and restarts.
– It´s a new record in red flags for me, Scott says.

Thursdays qualifying sessions saw the young swedish Red Bull Junior and Hitech driver claim P5 in both sessions. 38 cars on the grid competing over the same track width makes it challenging.
– Q1 was not the easiest quali and I was impeded twice, but still dragged out a P5 in the end, Scott says.
– In Q2 we had good conditions but it turned into a very fast qualifying session and very tight so too, P5 again but times were now around 4 tenths faster.

Scott missing out on first row did not let him down though.
– Starting row 3 in both Race 1 and 3 and will go for it! In Race 2 there is a reversed grid based on P1 to P12, so let´s go for a good position in Race 1, Scott says.

Race 1:
Red flag on the first lap with a 15 minute break, rolling restart with Scott in P5.
SC after one race lap driven and the 28 minutes + 1 lap turned into a one lap sprint race… P5 over the line.

Race 2:
Starting P8 in the last reversed grid race of the season, red flag with 15 mins left of racing.
Scott claims a position in the restart, and then another red flag with 7 minutes left of racing time. SC in with less than 4 mins + 1 lap to race.
And red flag again finishes the race with a couple of minutes still to go, and race will not resume – Scott was P9, but final results are still pending.
– The few race laps we got I battled hard to go forward, but the race was interrupted with three red flags and very little racing. New red flag record for me, always something…, Scott says.

Race 3:
Scott started P5 and quickly got past a car and started the chase.
– It was a well performed race by me and the team. Made the overtake early up to P4 and from there we had 2 safety cars deployed. New restarts and not so many opportunities to go forward.
– I am very grateful for all the hard work the team has put in during the winter season and for all the support from my sponsors.
– Soon back in the car again for the start of the British F4 Championship!, Scott says.
