THIS WEEKEND: Round 2 of BF4 at Brands Hatch!
The Indy version of iconic Brands Hatch is this weekends host to the second round of the 2026 British F4 season. Short, technical and filled with cars it will be a proper challenge for the drivers.
– Qualification will be key, more than ever, this weekend, Scott Kin Lindblom says.
The 15-year-old swedish Red Bull Junior and Hitech driver Scott Kin Lindblom is currently 4th in the championship standings, chasing for more points. In the first round of the season at Donington in April he claimed double podiums with P6, P3 and P3. This season is a record breaking one, with more than 30 cars on the grid – and also
for the 2026 season, British F4 has introduced an innovative new scoring system designed to reward overtaking and racecraft in the reverse-grid race (Race 2). Drivers will now receive one bonus point for every position gained compared to their starting position, with a maximum of 10 extra points available. The new rule applies exclusively to Race 2 and is aimed at encouraging more aggressive racing and rewarding drivers who can fight their way through the field.
– There are more points to get of course, but I think on a short track like this it´s important to qualify in a good spot and try to keep it and avoid crashes, Scott says.
Nestled in the Kent countryside, Brands Hatch Indy Circuit is one of the most iconic short circuits in British motorsport. Despite its compact layout, the Indy configuration delivers relentless action with almost no time to breathe for the drivers. The lap begins with the dramatic plunge through Paddock Hill Bend before flowing into the technical Druids hairpin and the fast, demanding run back towards the start-finish straight. Its narrow nature and constant elevation changes make precision essential, while the close barriers and unforgiving kerbs ensure there is little room for mistakes. For young drivers in British F4, Brands Hatch Indy is the perfect test of confidence, commitment and racecraft.
Testing has been done on the track, with Scott Kin Lindblom among the top runners.
– Yep, the car feels fine, but as we all know testing is testing and racing is racing. I always do my best and aim for the top spot, Scott says.
