Challenging weekend at Silverstone

It was a challenging weekend for Scott Kin Lindblom in the latest round of the British F4 Championship. Qualifying issues put the 15-year-old Red Bull Junior driver on the back foot from the outset.

– The qualifying problems left us starting far down the grid. At the same time, we made several good starts and strong recoveries through the field. Now it's about putting this weekend behind us and focusing on the next round at Zandvoort, says Scott.

Race 1

Following the qualifying setbacks, Scott started 19th for the opening race. With determined driving, he quickly worked his way through the field and crossed the finish line in 11th place. Penalties for drivers ahead later promoted him to 10th, securing valuable championship points.

Race 2

In the second race, Scott climbed from 21st on the grid to finish 13th after another impressive recovery drive.

The race was marked by drama from the very first lap, when an incident brought out the red flag. At the restart, the grid was reset to the original starting order, despite Scott having already gained several positions before the stoppage.

– The race was stopped on the opening lap and the field was reset to the original grid order. I had gained nine positions on the first lap, so that was a bit unfortunate, says Scott.

Race 3

For the weekend's final race, Scott lined up 24th on the grid. Once again, the race got off to a dramatic start, with a red flag on the opening lap following multiple incidents.

The front wing of Scott's car was damaged, but the team was able to repair it during the stoppage.

– We were able to repair the damage from the contact during the red-flag period.

Starting from the back of the field, Scott fought his way back through the pack and finished 22nd, despite suffering a slow puncture in the closing laps after damage to one of his tyres.

The next round of the championship takes place at the iconic Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands on 11–12 July.
