This weekend: Chasing points at Croft

After his first British F4 victory, Scott Kin Lindblom is ready for the next challenge. This weekend, the championship heads to Croft Circuit in North Yorkshire, where the Swedish Red Bull Junior and Hitech driver will contest the eighth round of the season with nine races remaining.
– I am chasing every point now as we enter the final part of the championship,” says Scott Kin Lindblom from Falun.

Scott Kin Lindblom claimed his first British F4 victory at the most recent round at Donington Park. The Swede started from the front row for Race 2, made a strong start and then controlled the race from lights to flag. The victory was Lindblom’s first in the British Formula 4 Championship and made him the twelfth different race winner in an extremely competitive season. In Race 3, Lindblom also climbed from 11th on the grid to finish sixth. Following the Donington Park round, the 16-year-old sits sixth in the championship with 139 points. Hitech currently leads the teams’ championship.

Next up is Croft – a circuit Lindblom knows well and enjoys racing at, but which also places high demands on car balance and the ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions.
– Croft is normally a circuit I like and am fast at. But it is bumpy and the weather changes quickly, as does the grip. So if we find a good set-up, we have a good opportunity. If we get it right in qualifying, it will be good. If not, it will be tough. The circuit is narrow and difficult to overtake on, so it is important that we get it right for qualifying,” says Scott.

Croft is 3.42 kilometres long and one of the faster circuits on the British F4 calendar. The lap combines high-speed sections such as the Jim Clark Esses and Barcroft with heavy braking zones and slower, more technical sections around the Complex and Hairpin. This makes qualifying particularly important, with overtaking opportunities limited.

This weekend’s event is also important from a championship perspective. With three races on the schedule, a maximum of 75 points are available, and with only nine races remaining in the season, every point is valuable.
– The most important thing is to score as many points as possible at these circuits as I have lost 12 points through the penalty from Thruxton…,” says Scott.
