Scott Kin Lindblom P2 in Rain Drama at Croft

Scott Kin Lindblom secured a strong second place in the second race as British F4 visited Croft Circuit this weekend. In heavy rain, the Red Bull Junior driver challenged for victory from the start and also set the fastest lap of the race.

Following his first British F4 victory at Donington Park, Scott Kin Lindblom continued to show strong form as the championship arrived at Croft in North Yorkshire. The Swedish Hitech driver qualified 9th, 3rd and 9th for the three races, giving him a challenging starting position for the opening race of the weekend.

Scott made a good start but lost a few positions after wheelspin and a tight situation at the first corner. He then worked his way methodically back through the field and finished eighth after several well-executed overtakes.

But it was in Race 2 that the weekend’s biggest result came.

Heavy rain made the circuit extremely challenging, but Scott made a strong start and moved into second place going into the first corner. He then put the race leader under pressure for much of the race. Scott made several attempts to take the lead, while the two drivers pulled clear of the rest of the field.

Scott took the chequered flag in second place and also set the fastest lap with a time of 1:26.724. During the race, he improved his own fastest lap time several times.

– It was a very challenging race with a lot of rain, but I made a good start and was immediately able to fight for the lead. I was faster and tried several times to get past. The car was quite good, although it was very nervous through the faster corners and it was difficult to keep it on the track, says Scott Kin Lindblom.

Race 3 was considerably more eventful. Scott made contact with a car ahead at the first corner and dropped to the back of the field, around half a lap behind the car in front. He then fought his way back through the field with several overtakes, but lost positions again late in the race after going off track.

The second-place finish in Race 2 provides another important result for Scott in the championship battle. Following his victory at Donington Park and his latest podium at Croft, the 16-year-old Red Bull Junior driver continues to establish himself as one of the leading drivers in this year’s British F4 championship.

The next round will take place at Silverstone National Circuit on 26–27 September.
