Season finale at Brands Hatch GP Circuit
After a valuable debut season in British F4, Red Bull Junior driver Scott Kin Lindblom is set to conclude the championship at Brands Hatch. The season finale takes place on the iconic Grand Prix circuit, with three races remaining before the 2026 British F4 season comes to a close.
For Scott Kin Lindblom, this year's British F4 campaign has been an important step in his progression from karting to international single-seater racing. Following a strong season opener at Donington Park, where he secured two podium finishes, the season has delivered both successes and setbacks – but, above all, a wealth of experience to carry forward into his career.
Throughout the season, the 15-year-old Red Bull Junior driver has demonstrated his pace. He has fought at the front on several different circuits and in a variety of conditions. At Zandvoort, he secured two podium finishes, including a second place, while at Donington Park GP he claimed his first British F4 victory. At Croft, he followed that up with a strong second place in a wet race, in which he also set the fastest lap.
During last winter's preparatory campaign in the Middle East, Scott secured no fewer than 14 podium finishes. His season in the UK has not been quite as successful in terms of results. At the same time, the campaign has shown that Scott has what it takes to progress to the next level. Qualifying, race positioning and the ability to maximise every race weekend have been key areas of learning during his first full season in a Formula 4 car. A clear example came at Silverstone, where qualifying difficulties forced him to start from well down the grid, yet he still fought his way through the field in several races.
Next up is the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit, a layout that differs significantly from the shorter Indy configuration used when British F4 visited the venue in May. This time, the drivers will tackle the 3.9-kilometre GP circuit for the final three races of the season.
Preparations are already underway, although conditions have been far from ideal.
– Yesterday, we tested at Brands in very wet conditions, but only on the Indy circuit, which is one-third of the full track length, due to noise restrictions at the circuit on certain days. So on Saturday, we'll go straight into qualifying on the full GP circuit. It should be exciting, says Scott.
This means Scott will have very limited experience of the layout being used for the season finale before it is time to set his qualifying times. The focus will therefore be on quickly building confidence in the circuit and finding the right balance between commitment and precision.
– I'll try to put together the best qualifying session I can. Then I'll set my targets accordingly each time I'm out on track, says Scott.
With the lessons of the season behind him, Scott heads into the final weekend with a clear focus: to finish the year strongly, continue to develop and make the most of the opportunities presented by the final three races.
The British F4 season finale at Brands Hatch takes place on 10–11 October, with three races scheduled on the Grand Prix circuit.
